Quick Q&A with Jocelyn Baker:
When did you start performing, and what got you interested in starting?
I first started performing in May of 2017. It’s a funny story, I had just moved to the West Coast from the Midwest and did not have a job. I had dabbled in sex work here and there previously, although nothing as far as the online aspect goes. My boyfriend at the time is actually the one who pushed me to start creating content, after I told him about my friends who were doing it on a site called “mygirlfund.” I took the plunge, bought a Sony camcorder for $200, signed up on ManyVids, and have been creating videos ever since.
What do you find most enjoyable about your work?
That’s easy – the flexibility of creating my own work schedule on top of the freedom to create what I want, how I want. I am first and foremost a mother, so it’s always been challenging for me to find a job that allows me to spend time with my child AND make decent money. Now, I don’t have that problem. I can choose to work while she sleeps, or while she is in school. Something else I want to mention that I find enjoyable about my job is the connection I form with my regular members, they are so close to me and really motivate me to continue doing what I do.
When you’re not performing, what kinds of things do you enjoy doing?
When I’m not performing what am I doing? I wish I had a more interesting answer to that question. When I’m not performing, I am more then likely trying to run my household. What does that include? Well, cooking and cleaning mostly. There’s always piles of laundry that need to be washed or folded, and dinner needs to be on the table every night. Homework needs to be done, baths need to be had, and when that hustle bustle is finally done, well, that’s when it’s me time. That’s when I usually find myself going out to my backyard to enjoy a nice bong pack of my favorite indica strain, from there I usually just sit outside and listen to music and enjoy all the quiet around me. Of course watching Netflix is a favorite of mine as well, I’m currently watching Parks & Recreation.
Why did you choose your primary cam network or clips platform?
Manyvids is amazing – simply for that reason alone. They are inclusive – trans models, male models, women models of all ages, sizes, and ethnicities. This is important to me because I feel I do not fit the “typical” mold of the kind of model that you would look for on most other known platforms. Plus, as someone who supports everyone regardless of who they are I feel it’s important I am with a clips platform who does the same.
Do you have any message or statement for your fans who are voting for you?
Of course I have a message for all my fans who are voting for me, as I’m sure many other models do as well. I wish I could be more original in my statement, but there’s really only one thing that needs to be said and that is THANK YOU! Without you, my fans, those who vote for me day in and day out..I would not be here. Without you, those who buy my clips, tip me, purchase customs, leave feedback, heart my profile on Manyvids, even just ask me how my frickin day is when you see I’m down… I would not be here! It is because of you, and all of your support that I have been given this platform. I could not be more grateful to even be nominated for this award, and the ability to compete amongst all these fantastic ladies is just inspiring to me.
